Founded in 1963 in Mbabane, Waterford Kamhlaba United World College of Southern Africa (WK UWCSA) was the first multiracial school in Southern Africa. Today the school has over 600 students representing 60 nationalities, taught by staff from 18 countries. Waterford’s earliest ideals of courage, leadership, and equality remain at its core. Waterford Kamhlaba provides opportunities for academic achievement, personal growth, and leadership development for youth across Africa and the world. Waterford offers education to Forms 1 to 5, with Form 5 sitting the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) qualification, followed by two years dedicated to the International Baccalaureate (IB). Waterford highly values its socio-economic and cultural diversity.
