Chocs Pro Sound

DJ Choc invested in the South African Music Industry and has worked, written and or produced for numerous artists in the Industry for many years, an icon, a Master of Mix, an Old School legend. A man with an ear for talent and soul that offers all a hand of encouragement. A humble man who remembers his roots but reaches for the stars. Born in December in Vosloorus, one of four brothers. Music is in his blood, his Dad opened Dukes Place in 1987, a very popular night club. DJ Choc, a collector of vinyls, with over 50 000, began his music career with Dukes and eventually became a permanent fixture on the airwaves and in the clubs, playing on the likes of Kaya FAM, Metro FM and YFM. His old-school style is something that sets him apart from the rest.He realised a dream in producing albums for Mthembu Mncedisi, Sindile Mnisi, Skipper Shabalala and Rihiwe Manayage. This sparked a fire in him and lead to his own album and record label, Chocs Pro Sound, World Music, Chocolate Groove, We Need Love, InHouse Bandits and written and produced. He has worked with, written and or produced for artists such as DJ Clock, DJ Cleo, DJ Mashega and many many more. Writing and producing was not enough for this powerhouse, he began setting his sights on sound equipment, becoming one of the most respected sound technicians and sound hire company. He then began working on the Gig Rig concept with Anchor Auto Body, designing, building and producing the Gig Rig, this is where he met his wife Sandy and together they designed and worked on projects for Vodacom, SAB, Pernod Ricard and Telkom. The worked on the first Mobile clinic for Africa for United National, the first mobile computer school from the Bill Gates foundation. Eventually being in a position to own Gig Rigs for hire. Very rarely do you find a man able to go from dirty in a scrap yard to a business meeting in Sandton, then setting up a sound system and straight into playing for a massive crowd. He is a family man, Brother DJ ZanD, in his own rights the Hip Hop Icon, daughter Lady Du and accomplished singer and dancer, daughter Danny Painter, a radio presenter and television personality. Son Mbuso, a music producer, Son Sipho who works in the business with him, Son Dylan who has written Hip Hop and Rap. Between all the events, music and producing his favorite times are spent with his wife Sandy and their two grandchildren.
